Nothing To Say, and No Time To Say It

February 11, 2004 - 7:47 AM On The DaysThe days I don’t wear a necklace are the days I realize how much I fiddle with my necklace.
The days I don’t wear a necklace I end up scratching at a place right in the middle of my collarbone. I take the tips of all of my fingers and make a “tapping” motion where the charm on my necklace should be. My longer than short, yet shorter than long fingernails end up scratching my skin. Normally, these fingers would be grasping and pulling a charm on said necklace from side to side and twisting it absentmindedly.
On the day s I don’t wear a necklace I notice how much I do this and I notice that I do it mostly when I’m pondering something or need to nervously fidget for whatever reason. On the days I don’t wear a necklace I must look like I have a sort of weird rash in the area mentioned earlier as I am subtly scratching in this area instead of having the necklace as a buffer. Maybe my skin turns a bit red there. (don’t worry, it’s not bloody or anything..i said “scratching”, not “gouging”) People must think I have a strange scratching problem.
On the days I don’t wear a necklace, I wish I had a necklace on, because it is really irritating to be tapping and scratching with my nails on skin that isn’t normally tapped or scratched upon and not only that it makes me feel plain stupid. 2 That's so headgear...
